Kacey Musgraves says there very much was beef with Miranda Lambert and it was “grass-fed, grade A.” But that’s over. And now they have a song together called “Horses and Divorces”.
It’s on Kacey’s new album, “Middle of Nowhere”, that’s out now and its country music song title is simply perfect for a country music song too. I’m actually in love with it too.
Kacey said, “I love this song, because it’s not coming from some contrived place in a writing room. We’ve come together after years of really, honestly, not being friends.
I had this idea one day when I saw her on Instagram, riding one of her horses, and I thought, ‘Well, I guess we have two things in common: horses and divorces.’ And I was like, ‘Wait, that’s a song.'”
Kacey also announced the album’s tour, which kicks off in August. She said, “I want it to feel like you’re walking into an outdoor rodeo when you’re in there. There’s gonna be dirt, and it’ll feel like you’re outside.”
She has a few album release shows next week in Texas too. She’ll be joined by the Mariachi Brothers, after previously advocating for their release when they were detained by ICE, because Kacey still thinks she’s an activist at times.
The detention of the Mariachi Brothers was obviously a mistake (a wrong place and time situation) or they interfered in an arrest. And interference in any investigation (as in someone being arrested) can get you arrested…because it’s against the law to interfere with law enforcement’s active work. It’s a nice gesture to have to have them play a show with her…but it’s slightly ridiculous to me.
