Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is #1 for a 19th week on the Billboard Hot 100 and counting.
She is officially tied for the second-longest leading song. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas Xfeaturing Billy Ray Cyrus also have 19 weeks on the Hot 100.
The longest-leading song is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”with 22 weeks. So, “Choosin’ Texas” needs to keep the streak for four weeks to break Mariah’s record and set a new one. I really hope it happens too. Mainly because that song has ruined holiday season for me and it’s it reason why I kind sort of hate Christmas music.
Now you’d think for such a dominant song, everyone would have heard of Ella before. But that’s not the case for Doja Cat, who ever the hell that is.
