After seeing this video, I’m going to assume that we aren’t going to be seeing a Morgan Wallen and Chris Young collaboration anytime soon.
You’re probably more than aware about the Morgan “chair-throwing incident” that happened at Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s, in downtown Nashville. It consumed country music news in 2024 and it made Chief’s pretty damn famous.
The story keeps going on and I’m truly impressed by what’s being said in these videos. Some bodycam footage from the night of his arrest surfaced earlier this month, showing Morgan talking with police before being handcuffed and driven away. He called Eric to tell him and the police how “I ain’t done nothing wrong.” Cleary he almost killed two officers by throwing a chair off the roof that night.
Now we some more police bodycam footage that’s been released over the last several days and it shows Morgan’s ride in the back of the cop car. He appeared to enjoy the ride to the police station. Especially when he heard himself on the radio when the duet of him and Thomas Rhett came on with “Mamaw’s House”.
The ride and the conversation kept getting better with Morgan and Officer Lopez, as Morgan refers to him in the videos, really got to know each other on the ride. Well, at least they really got know who their favorite country music artists are.
Morgan asked who Officer Lopez listened to, which the officer said that Morgan is one of his favorites. He also said that he was fan of Zach Bryan and Josh Turner. Morgan said he knew who Zach is, but never really listened to him. Then Morgan said that he loves Josh Turner but he hadn’t listened to him since he was “seven”.
During their serious discussion on Morgan’s way to jail, while they were finding out who their favorite country music singers were, Morgan went to say more words that may be used against him. He went onto say that he really hopes they don’t hear any Chris Young, because “he’s terrible”. That’s where I really got the impression that Morgan is clearly not a fan of Chris Young’s music at all.
“Please do not play any Chris Young on this mother******. Oh hell no, he’s terrible.” Play Hardy or Ern.”
At least Morgan knows what music he likes. I’m also sure that Chris is not going to find this news funny and I don’t blame him. This is funny as hell though. This is like comedy entertainment writing itself.
